The Harrier GR Mk 3 was the first production fixed-wing VSTOL combat aircraft to enter service with any nation. It is no longer in service.

The success of the basic Harrier as a VSTOL aircraft is attributable in large part to its Rolls-Royce Pegasus vectored-thrust turbofan engine.
