The French ASMP (Air-Sol Moyenne Portee) is a medium-range, nuclear standoff missile that forms the second leg of the French nuclear deterrent along with the navy's ballistic missile submarines. It is approximately the same size as the Russian Kh-41, an air-launched missile derived from the SS-N-22 Sunburn anti-ship missile. Flown by both the French air force and navy (Aeronavale), the ASMP is intended for use against both land and naval targets.
