290-mm MAR-290 MRL

The MAR-290 is an Israeli 290-mm multiple rocket launcher (MRL). The system has fin-stabilized rockets that are launched from four tubes on a British Centurion tank chassis. An earlier version was fitted on an M4 Sherman chassis using frame racks.

The MAR-290 can fire four rockets in 10 seconds. Tube-laying and reloading gear are hydraulically powered.

Development of the rockets began in 1965. It achieved initial operational capability (IOC) in the late 1960s.
