M4 Sherman light tank

The U.S. M4 Sherman tank first saw service in World War II. It was widely deployed and became a synonym for U.S. tanks in general. The Sherman was fielded in a variety of models and adapted for use as a self-propelled gun, armored recovery vehicle and tank destroyer. Only the basic hull remained relatively unchanged during the Sherman's long service life.
