The S-3 Viking is the U.S. Navy's carrier-based anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft, with one squadron serving on board each deployed aircraft carrier. A few prototype Vikings have been adapted for carrier on-board delivery (COD) of high-priority cargo and 16 have been converted to the electronic intelligence (ELINT) intercept version (ES-3A).
