The Karakoram-8 (K-8) is a jet trainer design jointly developed by Pakistan's Aircraft Manufacturing Factory and China's Nanchang Aircraft Manufacturing Co. The type is named for a mountain on the Chinese-Pakistan border (the locale of the highest paved highway in the world, connecting the two countries). The three prototypes were built in China. Production aircraft are assembled in China from components produced in China and Pakistan.
