Raytheon Strengthens Australian Naval Defense with SeaRAM Integration

May 11 2026

On May 11, 2026, RTX’s Raytheon has been selected to support Australia’s Sea3000 General Purpose Frigate program by providing SeaRAM ship self-defense systems for the Royal Australian Navy’s new MOGAMI-class frigates.

Awarded by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the contract marks Australia’s first procurement of the SeaRAM system and supports the transition from the ANZAC-class fleet. Deliveries are expected in 2028.

By integrating the Phalanx Close-In Weapon System with the Rolling Airframe Missile, SeaRAM delivers autonomous terminal defense against cruise missiles and sophisticated airborne threats.
