Peru Upgrades Air Power with F-16 Block 70 Purchase

On April 23, 2026, Lockheed Martin has announced Peru will purchase 12 F-16 Block 70 fighter jets from to modernize its air force. The agreement also reinforces Peru’s strategic relationship with the U.S. and opens the door for economic and industrial cooperation.

The F-16 Block 70 is designed for long service life and reduced operational costs. It includes modern radar systems, upgraded avionics, and advanced weapons capabilities that improve pilot awareness and mission effectiveness.
