The Polish armed forces have been reorganized, professionalized, and downsized since 2002, when the force totaled 170,000 troops (half of which were conscripts). The Polish armed forces are fully professional; the last conscript left service on August 4, 2009.
Today, the armed forces comprise 104,000 volunteer personnel. The Law & Justice government that came to power in November 2015 plans to increase the total to 300,000 (including numbers from the new Territorial Defense Force)...
