OVERVIEW

Algeria is located in the Maghreb region of North Africa. It shares land borders with Tunisia, Libya, Niger, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco and Western Sahara. Its northern coastline on the Mediterranean Sea is the focus of Algeria's maritime and coastal defense planning.
