The Riverine Patrol Boat (RPB) -- previously known as the Small Unit Riverine Craft (SURC) -- was designed as a replacement for the Marine Corps' Rigid Raiding Craft. It provides tactical waterborne lift for conventional military missions in riverine environments. It is capable of beaching on unobstructed shorelines with mud, sand, silt and gravel surfaces. The RPB can operate in waters up to Sea State 3.
