The MOL-class torpedo/patrol craft were developed specifically for export. The craft had the same basic hull and propulsion plant as the Soviet MATKA**, STENKA **, TURYA**, and OSA** classes. The Ethiopian MOL-class units were configured as torpedo attack craft.
