These craft perform well in rough weather and can be transported over land, via trucks. The first 10 units were built in the United States (entering service in 1970) and the later units in Israel between 1973 and 1977. The vessels are being replaced by the Super DVORA class .

The remaining units are up for sale, but at least one unit is still active.
