The aircraft-launched DSTV 7 -- which was known commercially as the TSM 8030 -- was a passive omni-directional sonobuoy. It was an improved version of the DSTV 4M (see separate database entry).
The system was of the Type A standardized sonobuoy size.
The sensor was air-dropped from a helicopter or plane at altitudes up to 10,000 ft (3,050 m) and speeds up to 250 knots.
