AN/SSQ-79 SVLA

The AN/SSQ-79 steered vertical line array (SVLA) was a deep-searching, passive sonobuoy with a long-line array of omni-directional hydrophones sending data through a digital up-link. A hydrophone would have been located at the array phase center provides bearing data.
