Type 2016

This is a powerful hull-mounted surveillance and attack sonar, reputed to have a range of up to 60 miles under favorable conditions. The sonar scans in a complete 360-degree circle and is capable of target classification and multiple target tracking. The 64-stave (12 elements each) mechanically sta bilized cylindrical array produces two sets of beams, one almost horizontal and one dipped at 7 degrees.
