The Type 195 is the standard British helicopter dipping sonar designed for use on the Sea King aircraft.

The sonar can make detections at up to 8,000 yards (7,300 meters) and provides full azimuth coverage with progressively stepped 90-degree arcs. Any one sector can be manually chosen for a concentrated search, or the system can be set to conduct an automatic search.

Detection ranges and pulse length are set by the operator to correspond to the obtaining tactical situation...
