The TSM 2640 is a compact, medium-range, variable-depth sonar intended for light anti-submarine patrol craft. The sonar was designed specifically to detect targets accurately in noisy and high-reverberation environments such as shallow water.
The system consists of a 24-column transducer array housed in a streamlined paravane. It also includes a towing winch and on-board processing equipment. The paravane is 11.4 inches (290 mm) in diameter.
