The TSM 2633 is a long-range, low-frequency, active sonar for anti-submarine surface ships. Thomson Marconi has called Spherion the first true three-dimensional sonar.

The sonar can be set to a panoramic, sectoral or directional mode and can transmit in frequency modulation (FM), continuous wave (CW) or both simultaneously to detect slow and fast moving targets, concurrent passive or listening only detection and tracking.
