The MSR-810 is a passive omnidirectional sonobuoy for airborne anti-submarine warfare; it can be dropped from helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft. It was derived from the French DSTV 4L sonobuoy and produced in Italy under license from Thomson Marconi Sonar SAS (now Thales). Its characteristics compl y with both Italian navy and NATO standards.
The MSR-810 transmits by VHF and FM radio acoustic underwater signals received via hydrophones.
