The LOPAS is a passive sonar system for submarines. It is designed as a refit for current platforms or for newly designed small subs. The system is capable of operating with all current bow arrays, as well as those produced by L-3 ELAC Nautik.
The LOPAS was designed to replace obsolete sonar systems. It typically fits into the same space as the previous console without requiring rearrangement of nearby equipment. It reuses existing components where possible to keep costs down....
