The DSTV 4 is a 31-channel omni-directional passive sonobuoy for airborne anti-submarine warfare and can be dropped from a helicopter or a fixed-wing aircraft.
It operates at 65 or 330 feet (with a 990-foot-option for the 4M variant) and has a lifetime of up to eight hours. The successor is the DSTV 7.
