description
The AN/SQS-32 was the AN/SQS-4 Mod 4 scanning sonar with two additional capabilities: Rotational Directional Transmission (RDT) that made up for the lack of power in any one direction by producing a succession of intense beams, and Acoustic Short-Pulse Echo Classification Technique (ASPECT) that provided a short burst of signals in a steered beam to provide some indication of the target shape.
The operating frequency is 14 KHz.
