The AN/BQQ-9 is a thin-line, towed array sonar and signal processing system for early OHIO-class submarines.
It provides increased detection ranges and enhanced tracking and classification capabilities over hull-mounted sonars. The system processes signals received from the AN/BQR-15 (SPALT 9080) passive towed array. BQQ-9 uses the UYK-20 and UYS-1 signal processors.
