The AN/BLQ-11 (which was formerly designated the Long-Term Mine Reconnaissance System, or LMRS) is scheduled to replace the Near-Term Mine Reconnaissance System as a clandestine mine reconnaissance system that employs UUVs capable of launch and recovery from Los Angeles 688-class, Virginia-class an d NSSN -class submarines. Six to 12 systems are expected to be provided to the fleet.
