The British Type 994 radar combines the antenna of the Type 993 radar system with the transceiver of the later AWS-4 export radar system. The Type 994 performance is said to be considerably improved over the Type 993. Its ability to "see" through electronic countermeasures (ECM) and natural clutter is achieved with the addition of a digital moving target indicator (DMTI).
