The British Type 965 was designed as a long-range air search radar for major warships. It was previously fitted to most British destroyers and frigates as well as the British aircraft carrier HERMES (since transferred to India). Most Type 965 installations have been removed, many having been replac ed by the Type 1022 air search radar.
