The Italian MM/SPQ-701 is a combined search and navigation radar fitted in small combatants. The SPQ-701 can be frequency agile and has digital moving target indicator (DMTI) processing to suppress returns from stationary objects. Its functions are similar to the MM/SPQ-2 (see separate database ent ry), but the SPQ-701 performs them with two separate antennas rather than with the one reflector of the SPQ-2.
