The Italian MM/SPN-703 is a recent version of the 3RM series of navigation and surface search radars.

The radar has a slotted waveguide antenna that produces a vertical beam pattern of 25 degrees; the horizontal beamwidth is 1.2 degrees. The waveguide faces a cylindrical parabaloid reflector that depolarizes the emission.

The transmitter has four pulse repetition frequencies (PRF) and four pulse lengths. Transmitter power can be either 7 or 20 kilowatts.
