This is a range and bearing radar for the Mk 38 gun director in IOWA-class battleships. The Mk 13 replaced the Mk 8 range and bearing radar and is very similar to the Mk 8 Mod 3. The parabolic antenna is 8 ft x 2 ft (2.4 m x 0.61 m).
status
Initial operational capability (IOC) approximately 1943. Only the IOWA-class ships, laid up in reserve, have the Mk 13.
