The DRBI 23 three-dimensional (3-D) air search radar was fitted in the SUFFREN-class destroyers and DUQUESNE -class missile frigates. It served the principal target detection radar for the Masurca surface-to-air missile system.
When in service, it was protected by the large, "swollen" radome that was a dominant feature of the ship. Little unclassified information has been disclosed about the radar's performance.
