The AN/SPS-63 was a U.S. license-built version of the Italian 3RM-20N surface search radar (see separate database entry on 3RM series). The slotted array antenna emits 20-kW pulses and scans at 25 rpm. Bearing accuracy is 1 deg and resolution is 1.2 deg. Minimum range is 20 yds (18.3 m) and maximum range is approximately 40 nm (74 km). System weight is 217 lb (98 kg).
