The TRS 2050 is the first of a family of early-warning air defense radars that provide both high cover and low cover. The system is designed, through use of sharp angle beam-width and circular polarization, to accurately distinguish air targets from ground noise and unrelated echoes. Equipment to m inimize the effect of side-lobe interference reinforces this capability. Optional equipment may be installed to eliminate side-lobing entirely.
