The MPDR 12 is the target acquisition radar installed in the German Gepard Mk 2 and Mk 3 air defense vehicles. It has a high data rate (60 rpm), and is used with the MSR-400 Mk XII identification-friend-or-foe (IFF interrogator.
The monopulse pulse-Doppler system has permanent echo rejection values of 23 dB.
When in service with a Gepard Mk 2, the MPDR 12 is paired with a J-band (10-20 GHz) tracking radar.
