The ARTILOC (artillery location) was an acoustic system designed to detect and locate the firing point and point of impact for a variety of platforms, including artillery, mortars, tank guns and self-propelled rockets. The system detected and localized such events and then displayed them in real time on a digitized map. All firings and impacts were automatically recorded.
