The AN/UPS-3 Sentry Tactical Defense Alert Radar (TDAR) is an air defense radar. It is deployed in forward battle areas for surveillance and detection of low-flying fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, and works in conjunction with Stinger and Chaparral surface-to-air missile units. It is derived from the Israeli EL/M-2106H radar (see separate database entry).
