The AN/MPQ-53 is a multi-purpose assembly of radars for anti-air surveillance and tracking in the MIM-104 Patriot tactical surface-to-air missile (SAM) system. Emphasis is on real-time response, the ability to operate in a heavy electronic countermeasures environment and versatility to adapt to changing threats. The current production variant is the AN/MPQ-65 (see "Variants," below).
