The Syrel is a fully automated electronic intelligence (ELINT) pod for use with French Mirage F1 attack aircraft.
Using the same superheterodyne receiver as that in the ELISA Elint System, the Syrel is used to locate ground-based electronic emitters.
The centerline pod carries two antennas, front and aft, a data recorder that receives a continuous track of a target radar (including sidelobes), a processor and a datalink to a ground station.
