Forming part of the TACDES SIGINT system (see separate database entry), the TDF-500 is a radio direction-finding system for airborne use with the antenna components fixed to the host aircraft's wings and undersurfaces. It is capable of determining signal direction to within 1.5-deg accuracy, and ca n respond to a signal within 300 milliseconds. The system is computer-controlled.
