The Italian SCLAR multi-purpose rocket launching system consists of a 20-tube deck-mounted launcher that fires chaff, illuminating and shore bombardment rockets. The launcher is controlled by a digital computer based on the Elsag ESA24 microprocessor.

The computer can choose from a library of predetermined decoy patterns; elevate and traverse the launcher; and fire the rockets in the proper sequence and timing.
