The Mk 36 Super Rapid Bloom Offboard Countermeasures (SRBOC) is a replacement for the interim Mk 33 RBOC system that is in some inactive U.S. ships (see separate database entry). The SRBOC provides protection against radar or infrared guided anti-ship missiles through the dispensing of chaff or infrared flares.

The basic system consists of a six-tube launcher; Mod 1 has two launchers and Mod 2 has four launchers.
