Cygnus is a shipboard radar jammer operating in the I and J bands (8 to 18 GHz) that was designed for use with the Cutlass radar intercept (see separate database entry).
Cygnus provides protection against early warning, targeting and missile guidance radars using responsive noise, deception and barrage jamming.
The average radiated power of 300 kW (480 kW maximum in mid-band) is achieved using a very narrow beam.
