The AN/SLQ-17(V) is a naval electronic countermeasures (ECM) system that tracks, detects and generates deception-jamming techniques against enemy missile radars. The SLQ-17 develops an electronic image of the targeted ship as it is sensed by the enemy's radar and then offsets this image by creating a false target that is a safe distance from the real one.
