The AN/APR-44(V) is a lightweight radar warning receiver (RWR) that detects continuous wave radar signals and provides visual and aural warnings. It is based on the APR-42 (CMR-500B company designation).

The system consists of three components: a monopole antenna that provides omni-directional cove rage; a crystal-video receiver with a radio frequency filter; and a control panel.
