The AN/APR-39A(V) radar signals detection set (RSDS) is a digital radar warning receiver (RWR) designed for helicopters and light fixed-wing aircraft. It is an upgrade of the earlier APR-39(V) and introduces the ability to detect missile-borne active-homing seekers that operate in the millimetric wave bands (L band and higher).
When an enemy radar emission is detected, it is compared with emitter characteristics contained in the system's threat library.
