The AN/ALQ-165 airborne self-protection jammer (ASPJ) was originally a joint U.S. Navy/Air Force program to provide a defensive electronic countermeasure (DECM) system for fighter aircraft.
The receiver was designed to operate in a very dense signal environment and to contribute to the Joint Vision 2010 concept of full-dimensional protection by improving individual aircraft probability of survival.
