The AN/ALQ-101 designation represents a large family of jamming pods that were developed over a period of 15 years. The final version of the series, the ALQ-101(V)10, is called a "gondola" type because of the trough-shaped compartment in the underside of the pod.
The (V)10 enlarged the frequency coverage and included other improvements to give it the ability to counter all known anti-aircraft threats.
The final version of the ALQ-101 is equivalent to the ALQ-119....
