AN/ALE-38

The AN/ALE-38, which usde by the U.S. Air Force, and the AN/ALE-41, deployed aboard U.S. Navy aircraft, are high-capacity, bulk chaff dispensers used for pathfinder or corridor seeding roles.

Both systems are pod-mounted and can provide continuous dipole dispersal and instantaneous bloom for laying chaff corridors. They can also be used for aircraft self-protection and turned on automatically by a radar-warning receiver, which works with the system.
