This Advanced (formerly Automatic) Countermeasures Dispensing System (ACDS) is the computer control system for launching chaff and flares to counter anti-ship missiles.

Launch can be automatic or semi-automatic. The automatic mode immediately executes the selected optimum dispensing program, while the semi-automatic mode requires operator consent for program execution.
