The Iguane family of radars is designed for maritime search and anti-submarine warfare (ASW).

It replaced the DRAA-2A sea surveillance radar used in the Breguet Alize (which is no longer in service) and Atlantique 2.

The variants differ mainly in the antenna system, and all have multi-role capabilities including anti-submarine patrol, anti-surface warfare targeting and patrol of exclusive economic zones.
